Contract Sewing & Radiofrequency (RF) Welding Services

Combined Sewing and RF-Welding

Most of our products require a combination of sewing and RF welding. Where RF welding is needed and feasible, we use the welding technique process, and where appropriate, we sew. Our commitment is to use the best technique for each project, ensuring superior quality and performance.

Deciding when to use sewn construction:

We specialize in sewing medium to large items in quantities that are not cost-effective to manufacture in China. The materials we primarily utilize are coated or laminated fabric sewing, amongst others, with a primary emphasis on heavy-duty fabric sewing.

The sewn construction allows for you to create flat or 3D custom sewn products. You have the option to incorporate zippers, velcro, and webbing straps.

Sewn items can be made from any material a sewing machine needle can penetrate, and this method is often more cost-effective. It’s typically quicker to launch a new project with sewn construction, because the pattern-making and prototyping can be done with ease.

Deciding when to use an RF welded construction:

RF welding is used specifically for thermoplastics such as PVC, TPU, EVA, and certain fabrics coated with those materials.

The welded areas can either be made with a straight bar, varying lengths and widths, or shaped using welding dyes that allow for curves and corner seams. However, welding dyes are expensive and only become cost-effective when producing large quantities of the same item.

The advantage of RF welding is it’s ability to create water and air-tight seams, integrate tubing into seams, and when combined with thermoformed materials, achieve 3D configurations.
