Now, the purpose of this video is to explain your different mounting options when purchasing a track system. There are splits and connectors. We will explain the difference between those two in a different video, right now we’d like to highlight the different mounting styles for you. The most popular by far is the threaded rod system. There’s a threaded rod connector and a threaded rod split support the purpose of this mount is so that you’re able to suspend your track down from a structure that’s further above. So you have your connector or your split support where you’d like to cite your track each, rod comes with three hex nuts, two of which are used here to secure the connector split support to the rod. The rod runs the length you need up to attach to your structure. The third hex nut goes underneath it and in this case we’re using a beam clamp to clamp onto an i-beam or a joist or truss. The mouth of the clamp is 7/8 of an inch so you need to ensure that the thickness or the width of your mounting structure is not larger than that.
