Acoustic Corner Wall Baffles

Have you ever been in a loud room or facility and stood in one of the corners? If so, you’ve probably noticed that in the corners the noise is much more intense. When sound waves emit into the walls, ceilings and floors, part of the sound reflects back into the room, and the other part follows along the flat surfaces in the room. This causes a lot of noise the collect and bounce around in the corners. That noise will reflect back into the room if it is not dampened and trapped with an acoustic corner bass trap baffle.

Most rooms have at least two types of corners—where the walls meet each other (vertical corners), and where the walls meet the ceiling (horizontal corners). AmCraft’s acoustic wall baffles work for both types of corner joints.

Acoustic corner baffles absorb sound to prevent it from bouncing back into the room. Sounds that pass through the baffle get trapped in the air gap between the acoustic dampening material and the walls. This works as a simple bass trap, capturing low-frequency sound waves that tend to be difficult to dampen. The result is a noticeably quieter room.

Installing Acoustic Corner Bass Traps

The acoustic corner baffles are easy to install. If you choose one of our standard front widths:

For a baffle with a 66” front width, you need 55” of wall space on each side of the corner seam.
For a baffle with a 59.75” front width, you need 45” of wall space on each side of the corner seam.
For a baffle with a 29.5” front width, you need 25” of wall space on each side of the corner seam.

There are different ways to hang or mount the acoustic corner bass trap baffles.

The vertical acoustic corner bass trap baffles have 2 flaps with grommets. These allow for the baffle to be attached to the walls. Two fasteners will be needed to hang each baffle onto the wall.
If you prefer not to put any holes into your walls, and your walls are clean and flat, you can use a Velcro system. AmCraft would sew Velcro onto the baffle vertically and also provide adhesive Velcro for you to place onto your walls.

Additionally, the acoustic corner bass traps baffles are stackable, with a secure Velcro connection between panels.

It is important to tackle the noise on different levels and angles. The sound absorbing and sound trapping corner baffles are very effective, especially if used together with our other types of sound absorbing baffles. The other types of baffles that we offer are:

You will be able to achieve a higher decibel reduction if you choose a combination of these baffles. Our sales team will help and support you when deciding on the optimal solution for your noise type and situation.
